Tales Of The Crip

Tales Of The Crip
February 27, 2006

Who knew tennis could be so dangerous? Lesley recieved a knee injury during a tennis match friday night in Jacksonville. We spent Saturday in the emergancy room. We were told nothing specific about her injury only that it would be sore and she would not be able to walk on it. Excited with this new discovery we left several hours later with cruches and some pain medicine. She is okay and I will attempt to post pictures later.

I have learned a few things this weekend from the whole ordeal. They are listed below.

Things not to do when Lesley is injured
  1. Do not create cool nicknames such as "Big Limpin", "Wheels", and "The Crip".
  2. Do not create nicknames.
  3. Do not attempt to debate any position Lesley opposes.
  4. Do not attempt to debate.
  5. Do not purchase any flavor of Gatorade for Lesley save Fruit Punch Gatorade. Lesley always prefers Fruit Punch Gatorade.
  6. Do not touch the injury.
  7. Do not push the wheel chair at your desired speed. If you think you are going fast you are moving too slow. Hurry up! If you think you are going slow you are moving too fast. Slow down! - Dont understand? Me either.
  8. Do not go get a drink and a piece of candy from the machine.
  9. Do not NOT go get a drink and a piece of candy from the machine. Refer to #5.
  10. Do not (EVER) preface a "sorry" with, "I'm gonna stop reacting to the way you are treating me".

Seriously - taking care of Lesley has taught me alot about love. Its not all hugs, laughs, kisses, and smiles. Love is the laying down of yourself, your desires, and your "to do's" for the needs of the someone special. Love is selfless. Its been a blessing to be able to serve Lesley and take care of her.

Thanks,
James.

P.S. Look for the pictures

Visit to the Jacksons

VisitingtheJacksons
Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina

A couple of weeks into the '06 Lesley got to finnally meet my family. I left work on a friday after 12 and met Lesley in Santee, SC. Dad was home from Maine and we jumped on the opportunity to get together. Early into the night we arrived and stayed for the weekend.

Within the first picture starting on the left and proceeding to the right: Louisianna Bell aka "Wezzie" (our dog), Lesley and I, Julianne (my sister) and Nathan (her boyfriend), Chris (my brother) and Linley (his girlfriend)

The pictures that follow the first are just to give you a glimspe into the personalities of my family. My brother and sister have become best friends and being around the house with all of us is never a dull thing.

The final picture is my brother making fun of my sister's picture pose. He is a hoot.

The best part of the entire weekend, next to spending time with the family, was Lesley fitting right in with us. She liked them all and they liked her.

Thanks,
Jamie

Lesley's Artwork

LovelyLesley'sArtwork

To the right is a picture Lesley sent to me on Valentine's day. It actually has a funny story surrounding it. Upon recieving the picture I immediately posted it on blog very similar to this one. A friends posted the following comment after viewing the picture - "Put some clothes on". I adore the picture nearly as much as I adore Lesley.

Thanks
James

For My Valentine

For My Valentine

Below are the pictures I sent Lesley on Valentine's day. I've attempted with care to arrange the pictures in the correct order. Why? - Well, its because each picture tells a short piece of a much larger, grander story. Knowing the pictures are childish and a bit silly I will go ahead and apologize. My excuse is soley that Lesley loves them and I adore that about her. You may need to click on each picture to be able to read the story.

Thanks,
J.T. Jackson

ZETA Crush Party

ZETA CRUSH PARTY

After work on a thursday afternoon I left the sunshine state of Florida for Charleston, South Carolina. Lesley's sorority was hosting a "Crush Party" and I could not pass up the opportunity to be her crush for a night. The night was bright with the sight of Lesley. As you can see, she looked stunning in her new skirt. We went out to eat at one of our favorite resturantes and then danced the entire night. Early (very early) the next morning I departed from Charleston to make my way back to Jacksonville to resume work. "Was it worth it?" many ask .... I smile and exclaim, "I'm in Love!"

Thanks,
James T. Jackson

Lovers Weekend

LoversWeekend
Cypress Gardens Picnic

We were able to spend a wonderful weekend together. We celebrated our own holiday called "Lover's Weekend". On Saturday we had the perfect picnic at Cypress Gardens, in a boat on the swamp. Then Jamie treated us to an amazing dinner at Cyress resturant. We also went to the Circus on sunday and spent tons of time playing tennis. All in all it was a wonderful weekend.

At Cypress Gardens we were able to picnic on the row boat. It was incredible romantic!!!! We are perfect together!!!

Hey guys this is Jamie. I just wanted to draw your attention to a couple of things which I find particularly amusing. The first is Lesley's ability (or insistance) to wear pearls in any circumstance. We were in the great outdoors, hiking, paddling. She is always dressed to kill or thrill. She looks beautiful so I cant say anything......or I cant complain. The second comment I want to make is that in all the pictures I look really angry. I was not. I really had a wonderful time. I can not take good pictures. Every picture taken with me smiling makes me look mentally handicapped. I was resolved not to mess these pictures up, yet in doing so I come across as discontent. Anyway....thats all. James
