Maybe the Best Show in the World

L O S T

I've stayed away in disinterest for the show for two whole seasons. But after it was suggested to me by my uncle it only took 3 shows to hook me. Since then, I've only increased as a fan. The show is one of the best shows I've ever seen. Similar to M. Night Shyamalan's movies, the directors use mystery, suspense, and deep character flashbacks to pull you into the storyline. Also the directors include subtle details that fans with Tivo or Itunes can review the show and find. These details have created a whirlwind of discussion online and among other fans.

Anyways - I've been into the show and Lesley decided to take interest in it also because I am interested. I was shocked when she told me she watched the first four episodes. It said "I love you" louder than I have heard in a long time. Shes my specialness.

Just a note - if you plan to watch the show. Begin at the begining. You have to start there. But dont worry, because you will finish an entire season in a few days. Its that fanatic-tastic.

GT (13) vs. Clemson (12)

Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets are set to play the Clemson Tigers this Saturday night. Sports Illustrated has stated the game one of the top 10 most important games of the 2006 Season. ESPN Gameday is scheduled to host their show at Death Valley. The game will mark the 2nd time this season the show has showcased the Yellow Jackets. The first time the show started the season on Tech's campus in Atlanta versus Notre Dame.

INMYOPINION
Georgia Tech's previous game against Maryland was all but up to the team's ability. Until the last minutes of the game you felt like you were watching the team we were all too familar with in the past; unaggressive and inconsistent. However against the Hokies Tech appeared to play some football. In light of the past games, if Tech plays like they have been I dont foresee a win in the future. However, if they play to their ability than a victory is ours. A win against the Tigers will give the Jackets room for one lose to still go to Jacksonville. A lose will leave little to no room for error on the rest of the schedule. In my eyes if you're are going to make a statement about who you are as a top ranked team, then what better place to do it in the house of those overated pussycats on National Television. This game will be an appetizer for what the ACC Championship game will be like in Jacksonville, Florida at Alltel Stadium.

GO JACKETS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lesley's Artwork2

It turns out my main love language is "Graphing Affirmation". My Lesley made this for me.

I'd like to call your attention to "Ability to Dance". Its one of the aspects she loves about me which goes to prove my theory - My father was black. Why? - everybody knows white people cannot dance.

A Pie Chart

How do I love thee? Let me Graph the ways...

UPdate

UPDATE

Lesley is currently in Physical Therapy -working out that knee thang. She goes three times a week and, to my suprise, loves it. She would say she loves it because its her only time out of the house to be active. However I tend to have another explanation and it's pretty simple - Lesley loves PAIN. She loves feeling it and causing it. She can be a mean littel mongrel. Watch out Kentucky!

I have been in the process of upgrading from an apartment to a house. My cousin, Annie, and I are set to move Sunday the 26th. In addition to moving I am also car shopping. I've been blessed to have Lesley's car to use in Jacksonville while my car has experienced this trouble.

Thats all for now. Thanks. J.J.

Knee Surgery

Well who knew that a tennis injury could actually be a completely torn ACL. After being mislead by the PA in the ER that I most likely just had a sprain I was hopeful that I would be walking around and back to my normal level of activity in no time. However, after coming home to Lexington, we were surprised to hear that I actually completely torn my ACL and I am going to have ACL recontructive surgury tomorrow morning with a 6 month period of restrictive motion. Recovery is going to take a while, but most importantly I will be most of the way through rehabilitation before medical school starts. However, with graduation less than 2 months away finishing this semester is going to be difficult. And I would be lying if I said I wasn't a little sad that I am missing out on my last two months in Charleston and my last semester. Besides that fact that I will not be able to wear heels to formal, graduation or my best friends wedding or be able to dance, I am handling this well. One day at a time is all that I can say about recovery. With surgery tomorrow I am a little anxious. Everyone keeps reminding me that everything will turn out ok and I hope it does. I just want to be back to me, back to running and skating and dancing and playing tennis with my man. All of this has been good for our relationship. It has shown me just how much he loves me and how much I need him. He took wonderful care of me when I was with him and now I need him more than ever.

Tales Of The Crip

Tales Of The Crip
February 27, 2006

Who knew tennis could be so dangerous? Lesley recieved a knee injury during a tennis match friday night in Jacksonville. We spent Saturday in the emergancy room. We were told nothing specific about her injury only that it would be sore and she would not be able to walk on it. Excited with this new discovery we left several hours later with cruches and some pain medicine. She is okay and I will attempt to post pictures later.

I have learned a few things this weekend from the whole ordeal. They are listed below.

Things not to do when Lesley is injured
  1. Do not create cool nicknames such as "Big Limpin", "Wheels", and "The Crip".
  2. Do not create nicknames.
  3. Do not attempt to debate any position Lesley opposes.
  4. Do not attempt to debate.
  5. Do not purchase any flavor of Gatorade for Lesley save Fruit Punch Gatorade. Lesley always prefers Fruit Punch Gatorade.
  6. Do not touch the injury.
  7. Do not push the wheel chair at your desired speed. If you think you are going fast you are moving too slow. Hurry up! If you think you are going slow you are moving too fast. Slow down! - Dont understand? Me either.
  8. Do not go get a drink and a piece of candy from the machine.
  9. Do not NOT go get a drink and a piece of candy from the machine. Refer to #5.
  10. Do not (EVER) preface a "sorry" with, "I'm gonna stop reacting to the way you are treating me".

Seriously - taking care of Lesley has taught me alot about love. Its not all hugs, laughs, kisses, and smiles. Love is the laying down of yourself, your desires, and your "to do's" for the needs of the someone special. Love is selfless. Its been a blessing to be able to serve Lesley and take care of her.

Thanks,
James.

P.S. Look for the pictures

Visit to the Jacksons

VisitingtheJacksons
Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina

A couple of weeks into the '06 Lesley got to finnally meet my family. I left work on a friday after 12 and met Lesley in Santee, SC. Dad was home from Maine and we jumped on the opportunity to get together. Early into the night we arrived and stayed for the weekend.

Within the first picture starting on the left and proceeding to the right: Louisianna Bell aka "Wezzie" (our dog), Lesley and I, Julianne (my sister) and Nathan (her boyfriend), Chris (my brother) and Linley (his girlfriend)

The pictures that follow the first are just to give you a glimspe into the personalities of my family. My brother and sister have become best friends and being around the house with all of us is never a dull thing.

The final picture is my brother making fun of my sister's picture pose. He is a hoot.

The best part of the entire weekend, next to spending time with the family, was Lesley fitting right in with us. She liked them all and they liked her.

Thanks,
Jamie

Lesley's Artwork

LovelyLesley'sArtwork

To the right is a picture Lesley sent to me on Valentine's day. It actually has a funny story surrounding it. Upon recieving the picture I immediately posted it on blog very similar to this one. A friends posted the following comment after viewing the picture - "Put some clothes on". I adore the picture nearly as much as I adore Lesley.

Thanks
James

For My Valentine

For My Valentine

Below are the pictures I sent Lesley on Valentine's day. I've attempted with care to arrange the pictures in the correct order. Why? - Well, its because each picture tells a short piece of a much larger, grander story. Knowing the pictures are childish and a bit silly I will go ahead and apologize. My excuse is soley that Lesley loves them and I adore that about her. You may need to click on each picture to be able to read the story.

Thanks,
J.T. Jackson

ZETA Crush Party

ZETA CRUSH PARTY

After work on a thursday afternoon I left the sunshine state of Florida for Charleston, South Carolina. Lesley's sorority was hosting a "Crush Party" and I could not pass up the opportunity to be her crush for a night. The night was bright with the sight of Lesley. As you can see, she looked stunning in her new skirt. We went out to eat at one of our favorite resturantes and then danced the entire night. Early (very early) the next morning I departed from Charleston to make my way back to Jacksonville to resume work. "Was it worth it?" many ask .... I smile and exclaim, "I'm in Love!"

Thanks,
James T. Jackson

Lovers Weekend

LoversWeekend
Cypress Gardens Picnic

We were able to spend a wonderful weekend together. We celebrated our own holiday called "Lover's Weekend". On Saturday we had the perfect picnic at Cypress Gardens, in a boat on the swamp. Then Jamie treated us to an amazing dinner at Cyress resturant. We also went to the Circus on sunday and spent tons of time playing tennis. All in all it was a wonderful weekend.

At Cypress Gardens we were able to picnic on the row boat. It was incredible romantic!!!! We are perfect together!!!

Hey guys this is Jamie. I just wanted to draw your attention to a couple of things which I find particularly amusing. The first is Lesley's ability (or insistance) to wear pearls in any circumstance. We were in the great outdoors, hiking, paddling. She is always dressed to kill or thrill. She looks beautiful so I cant say anything......or I cant complain. The second comment I want to make is that in all the pictures I look really angry. I was not. I really had a wonderful time. I can not take good pictures. Every picture taken with me smiling makes me look mentally handicapped. I was resolved not to mess these pictures up, yet in doing so I come across as discontent. Anyway....thats all. James
